Avery was very upset to realize that after his medical treatment, Joe just pretended as if he could never walk and that he needed a wheel chair.  Joe wants to make up with Avery again but she does not want anything to do with him.  Avery remembers that Joe hit her when they were married.  She quarrels with Joe and then, on her way home, she was attacked by someone who she believes was Joe.
